At Corpus Christi we believe that History is a practical and engaging subject which motivates and inspires our children to gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain's part and that of the wider world. Through the study of individuals and the societies, cultures and countries within which they lived, History enables pupils to gain an awareness of what happened in the past and the reasons for events.
History helps our children understand the complexity of people's lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies, the relationships between different groups as well as the changes and challenges of their own times. At Corpus Christi children learn through a variety of exciting experiences such as school trips, artefacts and visitors into school. Role play, drama and dress up are uses to bring the past back to life and our children genuinely develop a thirst for learning about historical events, people and societies.
